Zoom Reality TV

30 minute video / 2020

Zoom Reality TV was an online live action role play (LARP) investigating COVID-era frustration, loneliness, and online group dynamics in a structure that takes inspiration from Nordic LARP. The LARP was designed to be edited into a reality TV episode with video diaries and analytical drawings exploring the unfolding group dynamics.

The LARP was set three years in the future of ongoing global pandemic, at which time the company Zoom has begun a process of analyzing and intervening on its users' loneliness in order to improve user engagement. The facilitator, Eliza, is a new hire, and does her best to analyze the users' experience in real time.

Zoom Reality TV was organized as part of Fringe Festival in Philadelphia, PA in October 2020.
