Pretend Ones is an installation of four monologues in a darkened room lined with memory foam atop short see-saws. Please find clips of two of the monologues here:
Audio Installation / 40 min of audio, speakers, memory foam, wooden see-saws / 2017
15 anonymous phone interviews were held in which participants were hired to discuss their histories with their genitals. The interviews were then transcribed and amalgamated into four monologues, which were performed by voice actors. Audiences to Pretend Ones are invited to slowly explore a darkened room and experience the limitations of their own bodies augmented by short see-saws under the memory foam-lined floor. The four monologues are playing quietly from speakers around the room.
